New York, NY - The CCNY women's volleyball team fell to the Brooklyn College Bulldogs in its 2016 home opener at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Tuesday night. After losing the first set 26-24, the Beavers dropped the second and third with set scores of 25-22 and 25-12.

Angela Ubanwa (Jr./Brooklyn, NY) lead the Beavers with six kills and 7 digs. Irishvarsha Lyyadura (Jr./ Queens, NY) posted a match high 16 digs and 2 kills. Brigitte Bozer (Sr./New Hartford, NY) tacked seven digs and 3 kills. Lesly Polanco (So./Bronx, NY) and Veralucia Quispe (Jr./New Rochelle, NY) both had eight digs a piece. Quispe also added seven assist.

Brooklyn was led by 10 kills from Christolia Butler and 9 kills and 10 digs from Sarina Rozek.

The CCNY women's volleyball team will return to action on Thursday, September 22th, hosting Medgar Evers College at 7:00 PM.
