Purchase, NY – The CCNY women's soccer team shutout Purchase College 3-0 in non-conference action on the road Thursday evening.
The Beavers found the back of the net first when sophomore
Daniela Grisales-Agudelo scored on a shot from roughly 20 yards out in the 34
th minute.
CCNY doubled its lead later in the second half, this time using a quick strike that slipped through the mitts of the goalkeeper. Sophomore
Tatiana Zuluaga booted goal into the net for her fourth goal of the season.
The Beavers added to their momentum later in the 87
th minute; Grisales-Agudelo put the Lavender and Black up three with her second goal of the game and thirteenth this season. Grisales-Agudelo netted a shot from 15 yards out leading to the third goal for CCNY.
The Beavers defense was stifling in the match, allowing Purchase to only take six shots each half. In the end, CCNY outshot the Panthers 17 to 12. Sophomore
Catherine Langkamp made eight saves for her 11
th career shutout.
The Beavers final regular-season conference game will take place on Saturday, Oct. 21 against the York College Cardinals at Randall's Island (Field 90). Kickoff is set for 2:30 pm and senior day festivities will take place roughly fifteen minutes before the start of the match.
