CCNY Women's Soccer Picks Up Win On Senior Day

Sophomore's Daniela Grisales-Agudelo and Gabrielle Duchaussee scored a career-high four goals, while notching their first career hat tricks.

New York, NY - The CCNY women's soccer team found their offensive footing Saturday afternoon, defeating the York College Cardinals at Randall's Island, 14-0. Sophomore's Daniela Grisales-Agudelo and Gabrielle Duchaussee scored a career-high four goals, while notching their first career hat tricks.

Prior to the contest, Head Coach Louis Manoussos and his staff honored senior class members Leanna Rodriguez and Joyanne Voyard

CCNY wasted no time in establishing its rapid firing offense.  In the first 40 seconds of the game, the Beavers found themselves up by two. Sophomore Daniela Grisales-Agudelo netted the two unassisted goals.

In the ninth minute, Grisales-Agudelo continued her attack, burying her third goal for a flawless hat-trick.

Sophomore Gabrielle Duchaussee netted the fourth goal of the game in the 21st minute off an assist from classmate Tatiana Zuluaga.

Rookie Amy Gomez scored the team's fifth goal, after fending off York's defender off the score.

Duchaussee would heat up the Beavers offense, scoring three straight goals for the team's second hat-trick of the game. Duchaussee goals came in the 26th, 28th and 31st minute of play.

Grisales-Agudelo added her fourth goal of the contest at the 33rd mark, to give the Lavender & Black a 9-0 lead to end the first half.

Freshman Odalis Puma started the second half off with back-to-back goals. Puma's first came as she found the back of the net off a feed from senior Leanna Rodriguez. Her second goal was identical, this time with an assist from freshman Samantha Castro.

Freshman Tatiana Zuluaga also scored two consecutive goals. Zuluaga chipped in shots at the 53rd and 55th marks.

Freshman Hannah Contreras recorded her first goal of the season in the 86th minute, for the team's fourteenth and final goal of the contest.

The 14 goals and 33 points were both season-highs for CCNY.

The Beavers dominated play, out-shooting the Cardinals 45-1, with 33 shots on goal.

Sophomore goalkeeper Catherine Langkamp is now 8-3-3 with five shutouts.

CCNY improves to 8-3-2 overall (3-1-2 in CUNYAC). York dropped to 0-14-1 overall (0-5-1 CUNYAC).

CCNY will look to return to its winning ways on Monday, Oct. 23 when its hosts Cairn University at Aviator Sports Complex for a 7:30 PM kickoff.
