Jamaica, NY – The CCNY men's soccer program earned its first win of the season on Monday evening, taking down the York College Cardinal's, 3-1. CCNY's victory was catalyzed by
Kamaroudine Tchabalandja's two goals in the contest.
York got the first goal in the 20
th minute on a penalty kick opportunity. Maxwell Ogujiuba stepped up to the dot and buried it the shot to give the Cardinal's a 1-0 lead.
Junior
Mustapha Camara and Tchabalandja combined to give tie the game in the 40
th minute. Camara recorded his second assist of the year by dishing a pass into the box where Tchabalandja was able to net his eighth score of the year.
Tchabalandja netted the game-winner in the 79
th minute. Tchabalandja knocked in the goal to lower left corner, with an assist from
Kevin Muniz.
Freshman
Stephen Ojo scored his first collegiate goal in the 86
th minute. The rookie headed the shot in off a corner kick from Damien Mendoza.
The Lavender & Black are now 1-13 overall and 1-7 in the CUNYAC. CCNY hosts Yeshiva University at Aviator Sports Complex on Sunday, Oct. 29 in their regular season finale.
