New London, CT - The City College of New York men's basketball team dropped a 95-78 decision at Connecticut College in non-conference play Thursday afternoon.
Senior
Salvatore Palazzolo scored a season-high 22 points to lead the Beavers. Palazzolo shot 9-of-19 from the field and 3-for-4 from the charity stripe. He added eight rebounds and three assists in the loss. Sophomore
Austin Volkens finished with a career-high 15 points, along with four rebounds off the bench.
Junior
Wils Jazilek and rookie
Ian Javier each had a season-high 14 points. Jazilek also added three rebounds and three steals. Junior
James White ended the contest with a new season-high of seven assists.
Connecticut had five scorers in double-digits led by 27 points from Dan Draffan off the bench. Jack Zimmerman added 16 points and five assists. Phil Leotsakos ended with 14 points while both David Labossiere and Yai Dengph had 11 points apiece.
The Beavers shot just 40.3 % from the field in the contest with the Camels connecting on 56.6% of their attempts. The home team also held a 46-28 advantage on the boards.
The Lavender & Black return back to campus on Saturday, Dec. 30, for their final game of the 2017 calendar year. The Beavers host Wesley College in a 3:00 p.m. tip-off at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.
