Brooklyn, NY - The City College of New York senior Robbie Dionisio recorded his third double-double of the season and led the Beavers to a 79-55 CUNYAC victory at Brooklyn College Tuesday Night.
City College extended its record to 11-9 overall and moved to 9-4 in league play, remaining in second place in the conference standings. Brooklyn falls to 4-17 on the year and 2-10 against the conference.
Dionisio had 18 points and 13 rebounds in the win, making 8-of-12 from the field. He dished out two assists and added a pair blocked shots.
Joining him in double figures were seniors Mark Richards and Khalil Hamer. Richards dropped in 12 points and six rebounds in the win while Hamer ended with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.
The Beavers started the game hot, outscoring Brooklyn 11-to-4 five minutes into the game. A three-pointer from Junior Brendan Hauser, would give the Beavers their largest lead of 20-points (41-21) in the first half.
In the second, the Beavers offense would continue to click after shooting over 46 percent in the half. A pair of three-pointer in the half from Wils Jazilek helped the Beavers stretch their lead out to 22-points (74-52).
The Beavers will play next on the road, Friday against York College. The game is set to tip off at 8 p.m.
