New Rochelle, NY - The CSI Dolphins took a doubleheader from the City College baseball team to end a three-game series on Saturday afternoon. The Dolphins took the opener 6-1 and held off a late rally from CCNY in game two to earn a 6-5 win. CCNY is now 6-13 overall this season.
Game 1:
The Dolphins produced the first three runs of the game in the first inning on four hits and an error. Frank Sconzo scored on an error following a fly ball from Nick Meola from the teams first score. Frank Muzzio picked up a RBI on a single to left center to plate DiMarco. Becker added a RBI single to score Muzzio.
Following a scoreless first, CCNY plated one run in the second after Stephen Peters was hit by a pinch with bases loaded.
In the sixth, CSI scored three runs in the frame that featured three hits and a stolen base.
Junior RHP Joe Bystrik took the loss in 6.0 innings of work.
Game 2:
After falling behind 4-0, the Beavers cut into the deficit scoring three runs on three hits in the second. First basemen Anthony Sautter led off the inning with a solo home run to left field. With one runner on, freshmen Hamley Volquez connected on a two run homer down the left field line to bring CCNY within one run (4-3).
Staten Island collected two more runs in the fourth and fifth innings on sacrifice flys to hold a 6-4 lead.
In the sixth inning, Sautter hit a two-run home run to bring the Beavers' back with one run (6-5).
CCNY entered the bottom of the seventh only trailing by one run. With two outs, catcher Edgar Arango singled to left field. But on the next at-bat, a deep fly ball to center field ended the teams comeback upset over CSI.

The Beaver will travel to Abington, PA on Tuesday to play Penn State Abington for a 3:30 pm first pitch.
