YAPHANK, NY - The Baruch College Bearcats scored five runs throughout the eighth inning to upend the CCNY baseball team 9-4 Thursday afternoon at Baseball Haven.

The Bearcats jumped on the Beavers in the first inning when Liam O'Gara knocked in the first run on an RBI single up the middle before Michael McGroarty scored the second run on a fielder choice to give Baruch a 2-0 lead.

Baruch would dial up two more runs in the third inning, recording a score off O'Garas' RBI double and an RBI single from Angel Acevedo to take a 4-0 lead in the game.

CCNY cut their deficit in half the fifth frame. Senior Anthony Cacchione ripped a two-RBI triple down the right-field line to bring the game within two.

In the seventh inning, junior Sardar Khanbilvardi tied the game up with a two-run homer to right-field, collecting his third home run of the season.

Baruch answered back strong in the eight innings with five unanswered runs, on four hits and one error to regain the lead (9-4).

Cacchione posted a team-high four hits in the effort to go along with his RBI while Kinsey ended the afternoon with three hits, an RBI, and a run. Kyle Ackley and Jason Goetz combined for a no-hit inning of work out the bullpen for the Maroon & Gold

Cacchione went 3-for-5 in the effort to go along with his two-RBIs, while Anthony Sautter ended going 2-for-5 with two RBIs, and two runs.

The Beavers continue their spring break play in a non-conference game tomorrow, traveling to Yaphank, NY for a doubleheader against the College of Mount Saint Vincent.
