New York, N.Y. – The CCNY women's soccer team started off the 2018 campaign on a strong note with an 8-0 shutout over Yeshiva University on Friday afternoon.
Junior
Gabrielle Duchaussee netted her first goal of the season in the opening minutes to give CCNY an early 1-0 lead. Sophomore
Amy Gomez doubled the lead off an assist from Duchaussee at the 7:05 mark. Junior
Daniela Grisales-Agudelo netted her first goal of the season midway through the half after being set up by
Susan Aracena to give CCNY a 3-0 advantage.
Duchaussee notched her second tally of the day in 31
st minute, as the Saratoga Springs, NY native finished a feed from
Dina Sayd.
Freshman
Ingrid Rosario started her collegiate career off with a goal in the 50
th minute, giving the Beavers a 4-0 lead early on in the second frame. Aracena netted her first goal as a Beaver in the 72
nd minute off a feed from Grisales-Agudelo.
Both Rosario and Aracena added goals in the closing minutes of the game to complete the shutout over Yeshiva, 8-0.
Junior goalkeeper
Catherine Langkamp made the start for the Lavender & Black, stopping two shots to start the season 1-0.
The Beavers return to the road on Sunday traveling to Jersey City, N.J. for a noon non-conference tilt at the No. 3 Nationally rank, New Jersey City University.
