New York, NY - In CUNY Athletic Conference action, the CCNY women's soccer team defeated Brooklyn College by a score of 5-1.The Beavers improve to 6-3 on the year with the win and a perfect 2-0 in conference play, while extending their win streak to three games.
The Beavers first score came in the third minute when
Gabrielle Duchaussee scored her first goal of the day off a feed from
Amy Gomez to give the Beavers a 1-0 lead. She scored again in the 38
th minute, this time off an assist from
Daniela Grisales-Agudelo, to double the lead.
CCNY entered the break owning a 2-0 lead over the Bulldogs and outshooting their opponent 16-2.
At the 72:04 mark, Keri Kenna got the Brooklyn Bulldogs on the board to cut CCNY's lead in half.
The Beavers would answer back, as freshmen
Ingrid Rosario scored three unanswered goals for her first career hat trick.
Rosario's first goal came in the 77
th minute on an unassisted goal. She scored once more in the 78
th minute off another assist from Gomez, Rosario picked up her third score and her seventh goal of the year in the 83
th minute to cap off a six-point afternoon.
CCNY held a 27-3 edge in total shots on Saturday, including a 20-2 advantage in shots on net. The Mustangs also earned five corner kicks in the match.
Catherine Langkamp made one saves in the win and improves to 4-1 on the season.
The Beavers return to the pitch on Wednesday, Oct. 3, hosting Medgar Evers College at Randall's Island Field 83. The game is set for 3:30 p.m.
