Men's Basketball Storms Past Hunter at Home, 95-68

New York, N.Y. - The City College of New York men's basketball team stormed past Hunter College on Wednesday night, defeating the Hawks 95-68 in front of a home crowd at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The Beavers had four players in double figures.

The Beavers were clicking on all cylinders in the first half, as they shot 57.6% (19-of-33) from the field, including shooting an outstanding 62.5% (10-of-16) from three-point range. The Beavers also shared the ball well in the half, dishing out 14 assists in the period to take a 50-33 lead at halftime.

CCNY opened the second half on a 19-7 run, jumping out to a 69-40 lead (13:09). The Beavers largest lead of the game came after a three-pointer by senior Mike White put the Lavender & Black up by 32 points (91-59) with 4:05 remaining.

CCNY scored 21 points off of 14 turnovers, while the bench accounted for 34 points in the game. The team finished with a new season-high of 28 assists, while also shooting 57.1% from the field and 66.7% from three-point range in the game.

Sophomore Athanasios Kamberis finished with a career-high of 19 points on seven-of-10 shooting, going 5-for-6 from long range. White recorded his first double-double of the season with 17 points and 11 assists, going 6-for-8 in the contest, knocking down five trifectas.

Senior Wils Jazilek ended the night scoring in double-figures for the third consecutive game. He posted 13 points, shooting 3-of-5 from deep, along with five rebounds and three assists. 

Junior Isaiah Denard collected 11 points, five rebounds, and three assists. Classmate Romello Rashad played another all-around game, totaling eight points, seven assists, five rebounds, and two steals.

Freshman Daniel Piszczatowki finished with eight points and three rebounds, while Adem Gutic notched eight points on a perfect three-for-three from the field and knocked down two three-pointers.

Next, the CCNY men's basketball team continue conference play with a road game at Brooklyn College on Friday. Tip-off with the Bulldogs is set for 7:15 p.m. in Brooklyn, NY.
