New York, N.Y. - On Wednesday, the CCNY men's volleyball program fell at home in a close four-set match to Wilkes University.
Wilkes took the first set in a tight back and forth battle with the Beavers, escaping the set with a 25-20 advantage. The Beavers bounced back in the second set, winning the frame 25-18, capitalizing on a .444 hitting percentage. In the third set, the Colonies pulled out a 25-20 win, led by 14 total team kills. In the final set, Wilkes came out with a narrow victory, capping off the set with a 25-21 victory.

Xhulio Myftari and junior
Carlos Maldonado Madrid led the Beavers. Myftari posted a new season-high of 20 kills, while Maldonado Madrid finished with 12 kills and 10 digs for his first double-double of the season.
Sophomore
Hei Chun Chan added 27 assists and three aces, while sophomore
Javier Lazo ended with seven digs and two kills.
The Beavers are back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at St. Joseph's College-Brooklyn.
