Beavers Drop 3-1 Decision Against Hunter

NEW YORK -- The City College of New York men's soccer team (2-10-0, 2-4-0 CUNYAC) suffered its second straight loss on Saturday afternoon, falling to Hunter (4-7-1, 3-1-0 CUNYAC) at Randall's Island Field 10.  Ishmael Quanash (Verona, Italy) converted a penalty kick for the Beavers' only goal.

CCNY earned the penalty kick after a Hunter foul in the box in the 84th minute.  Quanash stepped up and calmly put it home for his first career tally.  This marked the fourth consecutive game in which CCNY scored on a penalty kick, as the Beavers are a perfect 4-for-4 from the spot this season.

Jesus Patino Muniz put Hunter on the board in the 10th minute, and the Hawks held a 1-0 advantage at halftime.  Mikael Young-Malka increased Hunter's lead to 2-0 in the 53rd minute before Blaise Enama added a 62nd-minute tally for the Hawks.

Kacper Lesniak (Nowy Sacz, Poland) recorded eight saves in a losing effort, adding to his league-leading total.  Hunter goalkeeper Noah Dougherty, meanwhile, was credited with two saves.

There are two games remaining on CCNY's regular season schedule.  The Beavers wrap up their road slate next Saturday with a 12 p.m. visit to Staten Island (6-5-1).  The contest won't count as a CUNYAC game because of the Dolphins' reclassification to the Division II level.
