Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Beavers Roll to Second Straight Victory

BROOKLYN, NY -- The goals came early and often for the City College of New York women's soccer team on Wednesday night.  Gabrielle Duchaussee (Saratoga Springs, NY) found the back of the net five times and Renee Ramlochan (Queens, NY) had a hat trick of her own, as the Beavers (5-5-0, 2-1-0 CUNYAC) topped Medgar Evers (0-9-0, 0-3-0 CUNYAC) by a 15-0 count at the Aviator Sports Complex.

Duchaussee opened the scoring in the fifth minute and was involved in each of CCNY's first five goals.  She had three goals and two assists by the 20-minute mark, then Ramlochan added a pair three minutes apart to make it 7-0.  Duchausse then notched her fourth tally of the half in the 40th minute to increase the Beavers' cushion to 8-0.

Danielle Rose (Brooklyn, NY) picked up her first career goal two minutes into the second half, and seven different Beavers scored over the final 45 minutes.  Tatiana Zuluaga (Levittown, NY) was credited with her first goal of the season, as was Georgiana Ramos (Elmhurst, NY).  Catherine Langkamp (Bronx, NY) even got into the act.  Ordinarily CCNY's goalkeeper, she played the field on Wednesday and distributed a pair of assists before notching her first career goal in the 84th minute.

This marked CCNY's second double-digit shutout win of the season.  The Beavers knocked off Yeshiva by an 11-0 count on Sept. 4.  It was also Duchaussee's second five-goal effort of the year.  She scored five times against Yeshiva and leads the CUNYAC with 17 goals this season.

Five different Beavers had multi-point efforts.  Cassidy Canberg (Remsenburg, NY) contributed a pair of goals, while Ingrid Rosario (Ozone, NY) posted a goal and an assist.  With Langkamp playing in the field, Gabrielle Cillibrasi (New York, NY) got the start in net and recorded the shutout.

Jody-Ann Blanchard and Carphy Mathurin each saw 45 minutes of action in goal for the Cougars.  They both made 12 saves, as CCNY outshot Medgar Evers 55-4.

CCNY has now won two straight and three of its last four.  The Beavers will look for their third straight victory on Saturday, when they take on the College of Staten Island (3-5-0) at 4 p.m.  The contest will be played on the campus of Purchase College.
