Record-Setting Night For Duchaussee In Win Over York

NEW YORK -- Gabrielle Duchaussee (Saratoga Springs, NY) scored her 50th career goal in the City College of New York women's soccer team's (6-7-0, 3-1-0 CUNAYAC) 6-0 victory over York (2-14-0, 1-4-0 CUNYAC) at Randall's Island Field 10 on Wednesday night.  She finished the night with five tallies and now has 22 goals on the year, moving her into a tie for the NCAA lead and breaking Marissa Olsen's single-season program record of 21, set in 2016.

Duchaussee netted her first goal just two minutes into the contest, when her strike from the left side trickled off the keeper's hands and in.  She assisted on CCNY's second goal, which was put in by Cassidy Canberg (Remsenburg, NY), then got free in the midle of the field and slipped one to the right of the goalkeeper in the 33rd minute for her second tally of the night.

In the second half, Duchaussee added three more goals within nine minutes of each other.  She hit a blast just below the crossbar in the 51st minute, then arched one into the upper right corner in the 59th minute.  On CCNY's next possession, Canberg and Duchaussee again connected.  Duchaussee got free in the midfield, Canberg hit her in stride, and she beat the goalkeeper one-on-one to cap her third five-goal effort of the season.

Canberg assisted on all five of Duchaussee's tallies and netted her seventh goal of the year.  Goalkeeper Catherine Langkamp (Bronx, NY), meanwhile, was credited with her second shutout win.  Chelsea Vasquez stopped eigth CCNY shots, as the Beavers outshot the Cardinals 27-8.

York had a few solid scoring chances in the game.  However, the Cardinals had a goal waived off on an offside call, and another shot was played off the end line by the CCNY defense.  Langkamp also made a late point-blank save to preserve the shutout.

On Saturday, the Beavers conclude the regular season with a 3 p.m. matchup against conference-leading John Jay (9-6-1, 4-0-0 CUNYAC) at Randall's Island Field 75.  With a win, CCNY will earn a share of the CUNYAC regular season title.  It will also be the Beavers' Senior Day, as the program will honor its five seniors prior to the contest.
