Beavers Topped By Albright

NEW YORK -- On Saturday afternoon, the City College of New York women's basketball team concluded a two-game homestand by welcoming Albright to Nat Holman Gymnasium.  Unfortunately, the Beavers (0-5) ran into a hot-shooting Albright team, as the Lions (6-0) earned a 110-43 victory.

Albright held a 38-7 advantage after one quarter and extended its cushion to 61-19 at halftime.  The Lions entered the fourth quarter with a 98-31 lead before the teams played an even fourth quarter to account for the 110-43 final score.

Every Albright player scored at least five points, including seven in double-figures.  Dejah Terrell had 18 points and a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with four assists and three blocks.  Gabby Boggs also posted a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards.  She also registered three assists, three blocks and three steals.  Hailey Dayton, meanwhile, finished with 13 points, six rebounds and six assists.  The Lions shot 51.2 percent (44-of-86) from the field, 41.7 percent (10-of-24) from long range, and 80 percent (12-of-15) at the charity stripe.

Reilly Boehm (Orlando, FL) led the Beavers with 19 points, and Tianna Fumasoli (Elizaville, NY) added 10 points.  Melanie Torres (Queens, NY) tallied eight points, six rebounds and three steals, while Harlean Williams (Staten Island, NY) grabbed 10 boards.  Shanyah Lander (Mount Vernon, NY) handed out three assists for CCNY, which shot 28.3 percent (17-of-60) from the floor.  The Beavers went 4-for-14 (28.6 percent) from downtown and 5-for-10 (50 percent) at the free throw line.

The Beavers return to action on Tuesday night, when they visit Wesleyan (5-0) at 7 p.m.
