Purchase, NY – The City College of New York baseball team fell in their 2019 season opener against the Purchase College Panthers, 4-0, on Saturday.
After five scoreless innings, the Panthers struck first with a pair of runs in the top of the sixth. Matthew Nilsen batted in Matthew Villalobos for the first score of the day. Two batters later, Patrick Wallace reached home on a fielder's choice RBI.
In the seventh, the Purchase added their third run as Dylan Flynn came home after stealing third and advancing on an error. The team's final score came in the ninth frame after Brian Cunningham drew a bases-loaded walk to plate Tighe Jorgensen.

The Beavers are back in action against Mount Saint Mary College on Friday, March 1 at 3:00 p.m. at Dutchess Stadium in Fishkill, NY.
