New York, NY - In a non-conference matchup, the CCNY men's volleyball team fell to Medgar Evers College in four sets at home on Thursday.
After the Cougars took the first set, 25-19, the Beavers battled back but in the second set, taking the set, 26-24. Medgar Evers took the third frame, 25-19, before closing the match with a 25-21 in the fourth to pick up a 3-1 victory.
Freshman
Xhulio Myftari led the Beavers with a season-high 21 kills and two blocks, while junior
Carlos Maldonado Madrid turned in 13 kills, four digs, two aces, and two blocks. Sophomore
Hei Chun Chan also led the team in assists, totaling a season-high 34.
Junior
Seth Diaz totaled four blocks and five kills. Sophomore
Javier Lazo collected 10 digs, while junior
Jonathan Liao finished with seven.
The Beavers return to the court on Tuesday, Feb. 12, hosting Lehman College in their conference opener.
