MAHWAH, NJ -- The City College of New York men's soccer team concluded its non-conference schedule with a matchup at No. 14 Ramapo on Monday afternoon. Despite 12 saves by goalkeeper
Kacper Lesniak (Nowy Sacz, Poland), the Beavers (0-8-0) dropped an 8-0 decision to the Roadrunners (6-0-4) at the Athletic Center Turf Field.
Lesniak played just under 60 minutes in net before being relieved by
Darko Delano (Accra, Ghana). Delano made five saves and allowed three goals.
It was a 2-0 game at halftime, but the Roadrunners scored twice in the early minutes of the second half to double their advantage. Brian Kelly recorded a pair of late goals to make the final margin 8-0.
Raul Macedo had a hat trick for Ramapo, while Joseph Fala notched a goal and two assists. Peyton Jones also contributed two assists for the Roadrunners. Ramapo goalkeeper Matthew Wilcox, meanwhile, was credited with three saves, two of which came on
John Yauri (Brooklyn, NY) shots.
CCNY (0-2-0 CUNYAC) returns to Randall's Island on Wednesday night, when the Beavers take on Medgar Evers (1-6-0, 0-1-0 CUNYAC) at 7 p.m.
