New York, NY - The CCNY Women's Soccer program picked up an impressive victory Saturday night, earning their third straight victory in a shutout over York College, 8-0. The Beavers move to 6-5 on the year, and 3-0 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

The Beaver's offense was on full display. Sophomore Cassidy Canberg scored the opening goal 35 seconds into the match. Freshman Charlotte Foberg fielded a pass from classmate Laura Villatoro to net the team's second goal.

Freshman MacKenzie Moreno made it a 3-0 in the 10th minute, while Villatoro found the back of the net in the 13th minute to boost the Beaver's lead to 4-0.

In the 19th minute, Moreno doubled back to net score her second of the night. Canberg followed suit, finding the back of the net at the 32:58 mark, pushing the Beaver's lead to 6-0.

In the 37th minute, freshman Deniz Zeynep Sonmez buried a shot off an assist from Moreno for her first collegiate goal, extending CCNY's lead, 7-0. Freshman Nicole Magretta scored the eighth and final goal of the night, netting her first maker of the season in the 43rd minute.

For CCNY, Moreno distributed a season-high four assists in the victory. Canberg and Villatoro were also each credited with a helper in the match.

The Beavers outshot the Cardinals, 18-0, putting 14 shots on goal.

Next, the Beavers travel to take on  Maritime College in a non-conference match on Thursday, Oct. 21, at 7:00 p.m.
