The Bronx, NY - On Wednesday night, The City College of New York men's soccer team fell on the road to Lehman College, 5-2. The lost drops the Beavers, 4-7 overall, and 4-2 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
Leman's first goal came in the 42nd minute, scored by Ebenezer Otoo to put the Lightening ahead 1-0.
The Beavers evened the score in the second half as senior Nicholas Karkut tapped in a successful penalty in the 57th minute to tie the contest.
After a tense back-and fourth, the Lighteing regained the lead as Jimmy Lopez netted the goal in the 69th minute. Lehman would score three more goals in the game's final stretch, extending their lead to 5-1.
The Beaver's final goal came in the closing seconds of the match as freshman Konstatine Mendrinos buried his scond goal of the season.
Overall, Lehman outshot CCNY 13-11, while the Beavers held a 5-3 corner kick advantage.
Karcut had a team-high three shots and three shots on goal. In goal, freshman Mikhael Torres made three saves for the Beavers.
Next, the Beavers travel to Brooklyn, New York for their final conference match of the season against Medgar Evers College on Saturday, Oct. 23, at 1:00 p.m.
