Women’s Soccer Falls in Regular Season Finale at John Jay

New York, NY - On Saturday, the CCNY women's soccer team fell to conference foe John Jay College in their regular-season finale, 3-0. The Beavers wrap up the regular season 7-6 overall and 3-1 in league play.

Despite today's loss, the Beavers have clinched a bid into the postseason for the fifth consecutive season, earning the second seed for the upcoming CUNY Athletic Conference Championships.

The Bloodhound's first score came in the 31st minute when Jillian Golden found the back of the net to put John Jay ahead early. Katie Healy followed with the team's second goal in the 35th minute. The Bloodhound's third and final goal was scored by Healy once again at the 63:46 mark.

Freshman Charlotte Foberg was credited with two shots in the match. Sophomore Cassidy Canberg, sophomore Jackeline Guillen, and freshman MacKenzie Moreno recorded a shot on goal for the Beavers.

Freshman Rosario Baltazar made six saves in goal for CCNY.

Overall, John Jay outshot CCNY 11-9. The Beavers had the advantage in corner kicks, holding a 4-1 edge.

Next, CCNY will host Lehman College in the CUNYAC semifinals on Saturday, Oct. 30, at Randall's Island - Field 10 under the lights at 9:00 p.m.
