New London, Conn. - The CCNY women's soccer team fell on the road on Saturday afternoon, dropping a non-conference contest against Mitchell College, 3-0. The Beavers now stand at 3-5 overall on the season.
Despite the loss, the Beavers outshot Mitchell 35-8 in the contest and held a 17-7 shots on goal advantage in the match. CCNY also owned the margin in corner kicks, finishing with an 8-3 advantage.
Sophomore Cassidy Canberg finished with a team-high 15 shots in the game, landing five on goal. Freshman MacKenzie Moreno tallied eight shots and three shots on goal, while freshmen Laura Villatoro and Charlotte Foberg each added four shots on goal.
Freshman Rosario Baltazar made her third straight start in goal for the Beavers, stopping four shots.
CCNY returns to the pitch, hosting Lehman College in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, October 6. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. at Randall's Island - Field 10.
