Hartford, Conn.– The City College of New York men's basketball team fell to Trinity College, 87-56, on Saturday afternoon in non-conference action. The Beavers drop to 4-5 overall with the defeat, while the Bantams improve to 6-3.
Sophomore Yassine Sakhi led the Beavers with a game-high 20 points, five rebounds, and two steals. Senior Joey Leighton added 14 points and three rebounds, connecting on a season-high four three-pointers in the contest.
Senior Daniel Piszczatowski picked up 11 points, six rebounds, and a block. Sophomore Amir Assani posted a game-high nine rebounds, six points, three assists, and a block. Junior Dashaun Galloway chipped in three points, four rebounds, and a team-high six assists.
Trinity owned the glass, outrebounding CCNY 49-40 in the contest. The Bantams also outshot the Beavers in the game 43.8% - 34.4%.
Next, the Beavers host the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 2:00 p.m. at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.
