MOVIN' ON! CCNY Women's Soccer Shuts Out Brooklyn to Advance to CUNYAC Championship Game, 4-0

Brooklyn, NY - For the second time in three seasons, The City College of New York women's soccer team has clinched a spot in the CUNY Athletic Conference Championship game after defeating No. 3 seed Brooklyn College, 4-0, in the conference semifinals on Saturday. The Beavers improve to 8-2-1 with the victory.

In the third minute, Junior Skylar Parker opened up the scoring, striking in a shot off a feed from sophomore Charlotte Foberg. In the 18th minute, Foberg threaded a cross into the box, setting up a header goal by Parker, lifting the Beavers to a 2-0 lead. By halftime, CCNY had a 16-1 shot advantage over the Bulldogs.

In the second half, sophomore Pamela Bernal netted her first career goal in the 81st minute, while sophomore Sharon Garcia added a goal in the 83rd minute to round out the scoring for CCNY. Parker assisted on each goal in the second half. 

Freshman Amelia Cataldo earned her fifth shutout of the season in goal, improving to 7-2-1.

CCNY returns to the title game for the first time since 2019 and takes on top-seeded John Jay College. The Championship game is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 5, at Queens College at noon.
