NEW YORK, N.Y. – The City College of New York women's soccer team begins its postseason journey at home as the top-seeded Beavers host fourth-seeded Lehman College in the semifinal round of the 2026 CUNYAC Women's Soccer Championship Tournament.
CCNY enters the tournament as the 2026 CUNYAC regular-season champions after putting together a strong campaign, finishing with a 7-5 overall record and a perfect 4-0 mark in conference play. The Beavers secured the top seed in the tournament and will look to turn their regular-season success into a conference championship.
Standing in their way are the fourth-seeded Lehman Lightning, who will look to pull off an upset and keep their championship hopes alive.
With a berth in the CUNYAC Championship Game on the line, the Beavers will look to take advantage of home-field advantage and continue their pursuit of a conference title.
LAST TIME OUT
CCNY and Lehman last met on October 24 in the regular-season finale, where the Beavers delivered a dominant 5-0 victory over the Lightning. CCNY controlled the match from start to finish, outshooting Lehman 21-2 and placing 15 shots on target.
Freshman midfielder Dianne Guncay led the offensive effort with two goals, while Larisa Hodzic, Pamela Pineda, and Ashley Lucero each added a goal. Pineda also recorded an assist.
The Beavers will look to carry that offensive production into Saturday's postseason matchup.
SENIOR DAY RECOGNITION
Before kickoff, CCNY Athletics will recognize and celebrate its five-member senior class during a special pregame ceremony. The program will honor Emma Raicovi, Karen Pineda, Sara Rodriguez, Lennon Leithauser, and Jade Salas for their dedication, commitment, and contributions to the women's soccer program.
CHAMPIONSHIP IMPLICATIONS
Saturday's semifinal presents CCNY with an opportunity to move one step closer to its ultimate goal of capturing the CUNYAC championship. After securing the regular-season title and earning the tournament's No. 1 seed, the Beavers now turn their attention to the postseason.
A victory would send CCNY to the 2026 CUNYAC Championship Game on Saturday, November 7, at York College, where the Beavers would face the winner of the other semifinal between No. 2 John Jay and No. 3 Brooklyn.
