New York, NY - In their home opener, The City College of New York men's soccer team earned their first win of the season, shutting out Medgar Evers College, 1-0. With the win, the Beavers elevate to 1-4-1 overall and 1-1 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

Hazim Naji netted the lone goal for the Beavers in the 13th minute after sophomore

Mikhael Torres made two saves in the victory to earn the win and improve to 1-0-1.
The Beavers outshot the Cougars in the contest, 8-6, and had a 4-2 shots-on-goal advantage. CCNY also owned the edge in corner kicks, holding an 8-1 advantage over Medgar Evers.
Next, the Beavers continue their home stand, hosting Brooklyn College on Saturday, Oct. 8, at Randall's Island - Field 10 at 7:00 p.m.
