New York, NY - On Saturday, the CCNY men's volleyball team's late-match comeback came up short in dramatic action-packed five-set thriller (25-21, 25-22, 20-25, 21-25, 15-10) at John Jay College in conference play. The Beavers fall to 5-3 (1-2 CUNYAC) while the Bloodhounds improve to 4-6 (2-1 CUNYAC).
After dropping the first and second sets, the Beavers fought back to force a deciding fifth set at the Doghouse.
Sophomore
Xhulio Myftari led the Beavers with a season-high 25 kills, along with ten digs and three blocks. Freshman
Rahul Sharma turned in eight kills and six digs. Freshman
Jeffrey Celis posted a season-high 25 assists, nine digs, and two aces.
Freshman
Utpal Chand added 17 digs, three blocks, two assists, and a pair of kills.
Tenzin Tsepak had eight digs, while freshman
Mohamed Elshary ended with four blocks and two digs.
Next, the Beavers return to action on Tuesday, Mar. 8, with a conference at home against Baruch College at 7:00 p.m.
