New York, NY - The CCNY men's soccer team opened CUNY Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening, falling to John Jay College, 3-1.
The Bloodhounds struck first in the contest as Brayan Alvarez netted a goal in the seventh minute. John Jay followed with another maker in the 12th minute, with Nicolas DiBetta tallying a goal to extend the Bloodhound's lead to 2-0. John Jay registered their third goal in the 18th minute, taking a 3-0 advantage.
Sophomore
Cheik Diakite netted the Beaver's lone goal in the 42nd minute, nailing in his first goal of the season on a header from
Antony Sumba's assist.
Freshman
Carlos Garcia made a season-high seven saves in goal for the Beavers.
Next, CCNY returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 1, on the road against York College.
