Purchase, NY - The City College of New York women's soccer team shut out Purchase College on the road on Saturday, 5-0. With the win, the Beavers improve to 3-2 on the season.
In the 14th minute, CCNY opened the scoring when Karen Pineda scored off an assist from junior Laura Villatoro. In the 38th minute, Villatoro dished out another assist, setting up freshman Stella Bolduc for the score, doubling the lead at 2-0.
Villatoro joined in on the scoring, boasting the Beavers back-to-back goals. She netted an unassisted goal in the 39th minute and netted the team's fourth goal under a minute later (39:34) on an assist from Bolduc and freshman Sara Rodriguez.
In the second half, Bolduc netted her second of the day off a feed from freshman Sara Rodriguez in the 64th minute to hand CCNY victory.
In goal, sophomore Laila Issa made the start, making three saves.
CCNY had a 30-6 advantage in shots and a 7-3 margin in corner kicks.
Next, the Beavers return to action on Monday, Oct. 2, against the College of Mount Saint Vincent at 6:00 p.m.
