New York, NY - The CCNY women's volleyball team dropped a five-set thriller against Saint Elizabeth University at home Thursday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium. The loss drops the Beavers to 6-10 on the season.
The Beavers won the opening set 25-11 and took the second frame 25-20. Saint Elizabeth closed out the match, taking the final three sets 25-20, 25-16, and 15-12.
Junior
Arianna Rivas led the Beavers with a match-high 18 kills and 10 digs for her third double-double of the season. Junior
Bianka Catral posted 15 kills, 15 digs, and three aces. Junior
Viviana Alatorre dished a career-high 36 assists and 11 digs in the match.
Sophomore
Nila Tom added six kills and a block, while
Fatimah Coppin had 12 digs and a block. Freshman
Rosalynda Russo finished with a match-high 21 digs.
Next, the Beavers return to conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 24, on the road against Lehman College.
