Throggs Neck, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team returned to action on Saturday, falling on the road in non-conference play to Maritime College on the road, 87-64. With the loss, the Beavers dropped to 0-2.
Junior forward
Edward Beqiri led the Beavers with a double-double of a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds, along with five assists and three steals. Sophomore
Ricardo Dixon finished the afternoon with 18 points and 10 points for this fourth career double-double. Sophomore
Michael Bowman picked up 12 points on 4-for-8 shooting from the field, including three three-pointers.
Junior
Chris Stone added six points, four assists, and three steals. Senior
Yassine Sakhi finished with four points, two rebounds, and two assists. Sophomore
Kayson Dinkins had two points and three rebounds, while junior
Elijah Patterson grabbed three rebounds.
Maritime outshot the Beavers in the contest 52.5% to 44.6% in the contest and held a slim margin in rebounds, 33-32.
Next, the Beavers travel out to Long Island, NY, to take on the Old Westbury Panthers on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 6:00 p.m.
