CCNY Sweeps Lehman to Win Fourth Straight Match

New York, NY – The City College of New York men's volleyball team returned home to the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Saturday to take on Lehman College, defeating the Lighting in three sets to extend their winning streak to four straight matches. The Beavers improve to 10-3 overall and 5-3 in CUNYAC Athletic Conference play.

In the first set, the Beavers prevailed with a 25-22, closing out the frame on an 11-4 run. In the second set, CCNY held off a late rally by the Lightning, pulling out a 25-19 win. After falling behind early to Lehman in the final set, CCNY closed out the third set with an 18-8 run en route to a 25-19 victory.

Prabodh KC led the Beavers with a match-high 10 kills. Junior Jeffrey Celis posted nine kills and 12 digs. Freshman Ethan Sherpa had a breakout performance, tallying eight kills, 13 digs, and two total blocks.

Freshman David Reyes Galvez dished out a season-high 32 assists and three digs. Sophomore Tenzin Tsepak finished with four kills, three solo blocks, and two aces. Rookie Ricky Li finished with six kills and seven digs. Sophomore, Edwin Fierros Gaytan notched eight digs, while freshman Cristian Canela picked up four kills.

Next, the Beavers close their home stand by hosting Hunter College at the Nat Holman Gymnasium on Tuesday, Mar. 21, at 7:00 p.m.
