New York, NY – The City College of New York men's basketball team defended home court Wednesday night, defeating John Jay College at the Nat Holman Gymnasium, 85-77.
CCNY moves to 10-7 overall with the victory and 3-3 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
Four double-digit scorers led the Beavers. Junior Jordan Williams led the Beavers, finishing with a season-high 21 points, connecting on 7-of-11 from the field. Sophomore Ricardo Dixon posted his eighth straight double-double and ninth of the season, tallying 16 points and 10 rebounds. Senior Yassine Sakhi added 16 points and 11 assists for his fourth double-double of the season.
Junior Edward Beqiri finished with 13 points, six rebounds, three assists, and two blocks. Junior Chris Stone produced nine points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. Junior Elijah Patterson picked up two points and four rebounds off the bench, while sophomore Kayson Dinkins had three points and two rebounds, and sophomore Michael Bowman had six points and two rebounds.
CCNY shot a new season-high 55.6 percent in the contest and outrebounded the Bloodhounds 46-30.
Next, the Beavers close out the week at home, hosting Brooklyn College on Friday, Jan. 19, at 7:00 p.m.
