Yassine Sakhi Becomes CCNY's All-Time Scoring Leader, CCNY Defeats York on the Road, 78-73

Jamaica, NY - In a historic night, senior Yassine Sakhi became the all-time leading scorer in CCNY men's basketball history, leading the Beavers to a 78-73 victory over York College on the road.

The win pushes the Beaver's win streak to five straight contests, improving to 14-7 overall and 7-3 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

Entering the Tuesday night game one-point shy (1,736) of breaking the record, the Harlem, NY native nailed a fast break layup early in the first half (16:28) against the Cardinals to become the program's new all-time scoring leader. Sakhi finished the evening with 19 points, reaching 1,755 career points. He also added five rebounds and seven assists. 



Sophomore Ricardo Dixon finished the night with 18 points, nine rebounds, two blocks, and two steals. Sophomore Justin Morety chipped in 11 points, four rebounds, six assists, and three steals. Junior Jordan Williams had nine points, going three-for-six from the beyond of the arc.

Junior Edward Beqiri posted seven points, six rebounds, and four assists. Junior Chris Stone finished with eight points, two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Junior Elijah Patterson tallied three points, six rebounds, and two assists, while sophomore Kayson Dinkins had three points and three rebounds.

The Beavers return to competition on Friday, on the road against Medgar Evers College at 7:00 p.m.
