CCNY Men's Basketball Tops Medgar Evers For Sixth-Straight Win, 96-57

Brooklyn, NY - Behind five players scoring in double-figures, The City College of New York men's basketball team won its sixth-straight game with a 96-57 victory over Medgar Evers College Friday night on the road.

The victory lifts the Beavers to 15-7 overall and 8-3 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.

As a team, the CCNY shot 37-for-74 (50.0%), and dominated the rebounding battle, 46-31.

Junior Edward Beqiri led CCNY with a game-high 21 points, knocking down 10 of his 14 shots in the game, along with four rebounds and two assists. Senior Yassine Sakhi finished with 17 points, four rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Sophomore Ricardo Dixon tallied 14 points, five rebounds, and two steals.

Junior Chris Stome had a strong performance off the bench with 15 points, four assists, and three steals, while junior Elijah Patterson collected a career-high 13 points, six rebounds, and two assists. Sophomore Kayson Dinkins added eight points, three rebounds, and three assists. 

Sophomore Justin Morety finished with four points, seven rebounds, six assists, and two steals. Junior Jordan Williams had two points and seven rebounds.

The Beavers return to Nat Holman Gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb. 7, for their final regular season home game against Hunter College at 7:00 p.m.
