New York, NY—The City College of New York men's soccer team picked up its second straight victory on Wednesday afternoon, shutting out John Jay College in CUNY Athletic Conference play, 1-0.

The Beavers improve to 2-5-3 with the win and 2-0-1 in league play.

After a scoreless first half, the Beavers broke the stalemate in the second half when senior Adonijah Brooks scored the eventual game-winner in the 71st minute off an assist from junior Aliou Ndiaye.

In goal, junior Carlos Garcia tallied four stops, recording his fourth career shutout.

CCNY held the advantage in the shot attempts, outshooting the Bloodhounds 16-8. Both teams were even in corner kicks with five apiece.

Next, the Beavers host Medgar Evers College on Saturday, October 12, at 2:45 p.m. The match will be held at the York College Athletic Complex in Jamaica, NY.
