Jamaica, NY - In their final CUNY Athletic Conference match, The City College of New York women's volleyball team earned a three-set sweep (25-17, 25-17, 25-16) over York College on Tuesday night.
The victory helps the Beavers clinch fourth seed for the CUNYAC Postseason Tournament, rounding off the conference with a 4-3 record and a 4-12 overall mark.
Freshman
Ivanna Zamora Sanchez finished with a match-high eight kills, four digs, and two aces. Senior
Bianka Catral finished with six kills, eight digs, and seven aces. Senior Viviana Allatoree tallied a double-double with 16 assists and 14 digs.
Sophomore
Rosalynda Russo picked up a match-high 18 digs, two assists, and a pair of kills. Graduate student
Michelle Fernandez had three kills, ten digs, and a solo block. Sophomore
Maria Popova added five digs, two kills, and two service aces.
Next, the Beavers close out the regular season on Thursday, Nov. 7, traveling downtown to take on John Jay College in a non-conference match at 7:00 p.m.
