Throggs Neck, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball secured their second straight victory Tuesday evening, defeating Maritime College on the road, 90-83, in non-conference play.
The Beavers improve to 3-2 overall with the win.
The Beavers showcased an offensive explosion, producing their highest point total of the season, shooting 48.4 percent from the field and 41.2 percent from three-point range. Senior forward Edward Beqiri paced the Beavers with a season-high 23 points, going seven-of-18 from the field and three-of-six from three-point range. He also had eight rebounds, three assists, and two steals in the contest.
Junior Justin Morety finished with a season-high 21 points and four assists in the win. Senior Chris Stone tallied 15 points, seven rebounds, three assists, and a game-high five steals. Junior Ricardo Dixon added 10 points, nine rebounds, and two steals. Senior Elijah Patterson posted seven points, six rebounds, and three assists.
Freshman David Leye netted six points, while junior Michael Bowman recorded five points and two rebounds, and Kayson Dixon added three and two rebounds.
Up next, the Beavers open CUNY Athletic Conference play on Friday, Dec. 6, against Medgar Evers College at 7:00 p.m.
