New York, NY - The City College New York men's basketball team picked up their eighth straight win Saturday afternoon, defeating John Jay College on the road, 75-67. The win raises the Beavers to 17-7 overall while improving to 10-3 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
Senior Yassine Sakhi led the Beavers in scoring with 19 points, shooting 8-for-13, along with five rebounds, four assists, and two steals. Junior Edward Beqiri posted his fourth double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Ricardo Dixon finished with 14 points, five rebounds, and two blocks.
Junior Jordan Williams added 12 points, knocking down four three-pointers in the win. Sophomore Justin Morety produced 10 points, six rebounds, five assists, and two steals, while junior Chris Stone had five points, three rebounds, and two assists.
The Beavers held a 44-34 advantage on the glass and outshot the Bloodhounds in the contest, 48.8 percent to 39.7 percent.
The Beavers close out the regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 13, traveling to take on the Brooklyn College Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m.
