Brooklyn, NY - The City College of New York men's volleyball team defeated Medgar Evers College on the road Saturday afternoon, sweeping the the Cougars in straight sets.
With the win, the Beavers improve to 6-8 overall and 3-5 in CUNY Athletic Conference play.
The Beavers blanked Medgar Evers in the opening set, shutting out the Cougars 25-0. In the second set, CCNY took the frame with a 25-15 victory and closed out the match in the final period with a 25-20 victory.
Freshman Brandon Green had four kills and five digs. Sophomore Prabodh KC finished with four kills, five digs, a solo block, and an ace. Freshman Alex Abraham tallied three kills, four digs, two aces, and a block, while junior David Reyes Galvez contributed 14 assists.
Junior Antonio Oliveira-Nurse added six digs, a match-high two blocks, and two kills. Sophomore Cristian Canela posted two kills, three digs, and a block in the win.
Next, the Beavers host York College on Thursday, March 14, at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at 7:00 p.m.
