Box Score New York, NY – The City College of New York women's volleyball team shined Friday evening, earning a straight-set victory over Lehman College inside Nat Holman Gymnasium, celebrating Dig Pink Night in support of breast cancer awareness. The win lifts CCNY to 5–12 overall on the season.
Sophomore Ivanna Zamora Sanchez powered the Beavers' offense with a standout all-around performance, totaling 15 assists and 11 service aces, while also collecting six digs.
Sophomore Rachael Reyes led the attack with 11 kills and hit .240 on the night, adding a pair of points on defense and serve for a 12-point performance. Graduate Student Gia Skenderi added seven kills and five aces to match Reyes with 12 points of her own.
Freshman Rayhanna Bailey chipped in five kills and a solo block, while senior Serena Warner was a perfect complement at the net, hitting .750 with three kills on four attempts. Junior Rosalynda Russo anchored the defense, posting a team-high 18 digs, and freshman Danuzia Caixeta Palmer tallied 13 assists and two digs.
Next, the Beavers return to competition on Tuesday, Oct. 14, traveling to take on Brooklyn College at 6:30 p.m.
