Brooklyn, NY – The City College of New York women's basketball team dropped its opening game at the St. Joseph's Brooklyn Tip-Off Tournament on Friday night, falling to St. Joseph's Long Island, 57–17.
The Golden Eagles opened strong with a 25-point first quarter, while CCNY continued to battle on the defensive end the rest of the way, holding SJC-LI to just 12 points in the third and seven in the fourth.
Blessings Joseph-Pascall led the Beavers with seven points, adding six rebounds and two steals.
Amanda Fisher delivered an impactful performance off the bench with four points, seven rebounds, four blocks and two steals.
Ashley Subervi anchored the paint with a team-high nine rebounds, while
Joscelyn Ramos added seven boards of her own.
CCNY finished the night with 39 rebounds, including 13 offensive, continuing to show effort and toughness on the glass.
With the loss, CCNY moves to 0–3 (0–0 CUNYAC) and will face Johnson & Wales in the tournament's consolation game on Saturday.
The Beavers will take on St. Joseph's Brooklyn tomorrow at 3:00 PM in the tournament finale.
