New York, NY - The City College of New York women's basketball team officially opened its 2025–26 home slate on Wednesday night, hosting New Jersey City University (NJCU) at Nat Holman Gymnasium. Despite an energized start and supportive home crowd, the Beavers fell 90–50 to the visiting Gothic Knights.
NJCU established early momentum with a 23–11 first-quarter lead and carried a 49–28 advantage into halftime. CCNY continued to compete throughout the second half, but the Gothic Knights' balanced scoring and strong rebounding presence proved the difference.
Freshman
Blessings Joseph-Pascall led CCNY with 12 points, going 8-of-12 at the free-throw line. Sophomore
Ashley Subervi added 11 points and 6 rebounds, while Sophomore
Amanda Fisher provided an efficient lift off the bench, finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds. Junior
Ashley Colon contributed 9 points, and
Joscelyn Ramos tallied four assists.
NJCU was powered by standout performances from Meghan Gentile (25 points, 8 rebounds) and Na'Tori Postell (24 points, 7 rebounds), helping the Gothic Knights shoot 50.8% from the field and secure a 46–32 rebounding advantage.
CCNY generated 24 points in the paint and 10 second-chance points, showing continued progress on the interior. The Beavers will look to build on these positives as they move deeper into their home schedule.
Next, the Beavers will host Keystone College on Friday, November 21, at the Nat Holman Gymnasium at 6:00 p.m.
