Madison, NJ – The City College of New York Men's Soccer team commenced its 2025 campaign on the road on Wednesday against Fairleigh Dickinson University -Florham, falling by a final score of 5–1.
CCNY struck first in the opening minutes, as freshman forward Konstantinos Psomaras found the back of the net at the 1:16 mark, recording his first collegiate goal and giving the Beavers an early advantage. However, FDU responded with five unanswered goals, including a hat trick from senior forward Diego Trujillo, to secure the victory.
Psomaras led the Beavers offensively with eight shots, four on goal, and one goal in 81 minutes of play. Senior midfielder Aliou Ndiaye contributed two shots, one on target, while freshmen Yair Roman, Josue Lema, and David Pemberton each added offensive pressure with multiple attempts.
In goal, senior Carlos Garcia faced a high-pressure offensive effort from FDU and managed to record nine saves in a full-match performance.
Next, the Beavers will look to regroup, returning to action on Saturday, September 6, on the road against Bard College.
