Jamaica, NY - The City College of New York women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a strong 55–36 win over York College on Wednesday evening in CUNY Athletic Conference play. The victory moves CCNY to 3–8 overall and 1–2 in CUNYAC play, while York remains winless at 0–8 (0–3 CUNYAC).
CCNY started slowly, trailing 7–6 after the first quarter, but quickly turned the game around in the second, outscoring York 16–12 to take a lead they would not relinquish. A dominant third quarter saw the Beavers put up 20 points while holding the Bulldogs to just 2, effectively sealing the win before cruising through the fourth quarter.

Ashley Colon led the charge with a season-high 19 points on 6-of-25 shooting, including 3 triples, while also adding five rebounds and a season-high four steals. Freshman
Blessings Joseph-Pascall contributed 13 points and 8 assists, orchestrating the Beavers' offense with poise. Senior
Joscelyn Ramos added 10 points, and sophomore
Ashley Subervi dominated the boards with 14 rebounds, anchoring the defense.
CCNY's attack was fueled by fast-break opportunities and turnovers, with the Beavers scoring 20 points in transition and 31 points off turnovers. The team also showed a strong presence in the paint, outscoring York 30–20 inside.
York struggled from the floor, shooting just 20.9% overall and going 0-for-5 from three-point range. Arta Gjeloshi and Amaniya Aiken led York with 12 points each, but the Bulldogs were unable to keep pace with CCNY's balanced attack.
The Beavers will look to carry this momentum as they host Lehman College on Friday, January 9, at home at 5:00pm.
