CCNY Falls to Lehman in CUNYAC Home Matchup

New York, NY — The City College of New York women's basketball team battled early but was unable to keep pace down the stretch, falling 75–48 to Lehman College in CUNYAC action on Thursday evening at the Nat Holman Gymnasium.

CCNY (3-8, 1-2 CUNYAC) came out strong in the opening quarter, holding Lehman to just 11 points and taking a 14–11 lead after ten minutes of play. The Beavers showed energy on both ends, with efficient shooting early and strong rebounding to set the tone.

Lehman (7-6, 2-1 CUNYAC) responded in the second quarter, outscoring CCNY 15–6 to take a 26–20 lead into halftime. The Lightning capitalized on turnovers and began to establish control in the paint, a trend that continued throughout the second half.

The third quarter proved pivotal, as Lehman used a 23–15 scoring advantage to extend its lead to double digits. CCNY continued to fight, but Lehman's pressure defense and transition offense created separation heading into the final period.
