New York, NY - The City College of New York men's basketball team saw its postseason run come to an end on Thursday night, falling 101–56 to top-seeded Lehman College Lightning in the 2026 CUNYAC Championship game at the Hunter College Sportsplex.
CCNY kept pace early and trailed by just 21–19 midway through the first half, showing poise in its first championship appearance since 2017. However, Lehman closed the opening period on a decisive run, using its size and transition offense to build a 51–30 halftime advantage.
The Lightning continued to control the tempo after the break, shooting over 50 percent in the second half while consistently converting second-chance opportunities and fast-break points. Lehman finished the night with a 60–34 rebounding edge and scored 56 points in the paint, pulling away to secure the CUNYAC title.
For CCNY, freshman
Olabanjo Aborisade led the way with 16 points, eight rebounds, and three blocks, while senior
Michael Bowman added 15 points and five assists. Senior
Camryn Reyes chipped in 10 points, knocking down two three-pointers. As a team, CCNY shot 28.4 percent from the field and 23.1 percent from beyond the arc.
Lehman was paced by
Ricardo Dixon, who posted a dominant 25-point, 14-rebound performance. Kofi Mends added 23 points, including five three-pointers, and Amar Ndiaye recorded a double-double with 19 points and 19 rebounds as the Lightning capped off a perfect 14–0 CUNYAC campaign.
CCNY concludes the 2025–26 season with an 8–19 overall record.
