Scott Losche serves as the Head Baseball Coach at The City College of New York, appointed ahead of the 2025 season. With over two decades of collegiate coaching experience, Losche brings a proven track record of competitive success, academic excellence, and a commitment to developing student-athletes both on and off the field.
In his first season back at the helm, he guided the Beavers to their third consecutive CUNYAC Regular Season Championship and a fourth straight appearance in the conference title game. The program also continued its academic momentum, earning the ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award for the fourth consecutive year with a team GPA of 3.3.
Previously, Losche served as Associate Head Coach at CCNY, helping lead the program to three consecutive CUNYAC Finals (2022–2024), including the 2023 conference championship—the program’s first in 29 years—and back-to-back regular season titles in 2023 and 2024.
Losche’s head coaching career spans stints at Baruch College, St. Joseph’s College–Brooklyn, and an earlier tenure at CCNY (2004–07). In 2007, he led the Beavers to the CUNYAC Finals and to the top of the NCAA statistical charts, finishing the season ranked No. 1 in the nation in team batting average (.368). He is the first coach in CUNY history to guide two different programs to the conference finals and holds the distinction of leading both Baruch and CCNY to their all-time highest win totals.
While at St. Joseph’s, he led the Bears to a 29-win season, a top-30 national ranking, and back-to-back USCAA World Series appearances, earning AD3I National Coach of the Year honors in 2013 and 2014. At Baruch, he captured the school’s first-ever CUNYAC title in 2001, becoming the youngest coach to win a CUNY championship. He was named CUNYAC Coach of the Year in both 2000 and 2001 and was inducted into the Baruch College Athletics Hall of Fame in 2007.
Losche has also been a strong developer of individual talent. Eight of his former players have signed professional contracts, including Rob Benjamin—who was signed by the Pittsburgh Pirates and later coached in both the Seattle Mariners and New York Yankees organizations.
A standout collegiate player for Baruch College, Losche was a three-time Knickerbocker All-Star and a two-time CUNYAC All-Star—one of the rare athletes to earn All-Star honors both as a position player and as a pitcher. A three-year team captain, he posted a career .395 batting average and twice ranked in the CUNYAC’s top 10 for batting average. Known for his clutch hitting and leadership, he finished his career with over 100 RBI.
A Baruch College graduate with a BBA in Human Resource Management, Losche is also a certified fitness trainer and performance nutritionist. He resides in Brooklyn with his wife, Megan, and their two sons, Bryer and Camden.
