Masa Balandzic joined the City College of New York men's volleyball team as an assistant coach for the 2017 season. She brings a wealth of experience with her to City College.
Prior to CCNY, Balandzic served as a head men's volleyball coach for St. John Prep School in Astoria, Queens.
A native of Pljevlja,Montenegro, Balandzic began playing volleyball at very young age on a club team. During her senior year of high school, she led her team to win the Montenegrin women's volleyball Cup. She was also part of Montenegro Junior National Team.
Balandzic earned an athletic scholarship played at Northeastern Junior College(NJCAA Division I). As freshman, she was named Region IX Setter of the Year.
After Northeastern Junior College, Balandzic transferred to Stony Brook University (NCAA Division I) in 2010 on an athletic scholarship. As a Seawolf, she served in a pair of roles, playing as a setter and defense specialist.
Masa graduated from Stony Brook University 2012, majoring in Multidisciplinary Studies.
